Joe Rodon: Tottenham star unlikely to play again this season after development this week – Spurs expert

Joe Rodon will not play for Tottenham again this season after failing to find a move away from the club.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

A Spurs source told Football Insider on 4 December that Rodon has his heart set on leaving the north Londoners, either on loan or permanently, this month in pursuit of game time.

However, he remains at Tottenham after failing to find a move away during January.

Rodon has only made seven appearances for Spurs this season only one of those has come in the Premier League.

With Tottenham out of Europe, the League Cup

“I put a tweet out the other day, not to have a go at anyone, but to point out he’s barely played this season,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He’s played something like 67 minutes in the Premier League, that’s not enough for him.

“He impresses for his country and he always does well for us. I don’t know if it’s that he’s chosen to stay.

“He would be our sixth choice of three centre-backs. I also struggle to believe there was no interest in him.

“If there was interest, he would have gone. I can’t see him getting much of a chance before the end of the season.

Tottenham

“We are out of Europe and we have Premier League side Brighton in the FA Cup, so I doubt he will get a chance.

“I can’t see him playing again this season.”
