Joe Willock bids farewell after confirmed Newcastle player exit
Joe Willock shared an emotional farewell with a Newcastle teammate following their confirmed departure from the club.
Newcastle are gearing up for their return to the Champions League, fresh off the back of winning the EFL Trophy, with a busy summer of transfer activity expected.
The club have already been heavily linked with several names as they look to strengthen their squad, with reports suggesting Newcastle are closing in on a deal to sign Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga after missing out on targets such as Bryan Mbeumo and Joao Pedro.
But just as new faces are being targeted, outgoings remain on the cards.
Football Insider revealed that Newcastle could look to part ways with Willock this summer as part of their plans to reshuffle the squad.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his own future, the midfielder posted a heartfelt message on Instagram to say goodbye to a teammate whose exit has now been officially confirmed.

Joe Willock bids farewell to Callum Wilson after Newcastle exit
Newcastle have confirmed that Callum Wilson will leave the club upon the expiry of his contract.
Willock shared a heartfelt tribute to his departing teammate, posting a picture of the pair on his Instagram story alongside the message: “One of the best guys and professionals I met good luck on your next step brother.”

Wilson joined Newcastle from Bournemouth in 2020 for £20million and went on to score 49 goals in 130 appearances for the Magpies.
Despite a strong start to life at St James’ Park, his time in the North East was disrupted by injuries, which ultimately saw him lose his place in the starting XI to Alexander Isak.
The 33-year-old made just 22 appearances this season, starting only twice in the Premier League, and missed 29 matches due to injury.
Still, there is interest in the experienced striker this summer. Football Insider revealed that several Premier League clubs are monitoring Wilson’s situation, with Leeds United among those keen on securing his signature.

Crystal Palace eye move for Joe Willock amid Newcastle uncertainty
While Wilson has now officially left the club, Willock could be the next to follow.
Football Insider reported that Crystal Palace are plotting a move for Willock as they look to strengthen Oliver Glasner’s squad ahead of the new season.
Palace are preparing for the potential departure of star man Eberechi Eze, who has been linked with Arsenal and Bayern Munich. With European football on the horizon, the club are keen to build squad depth, and Willock is seen as a strong option to provide that.
