Joelinton, Joe Willock react to ‘see you’ message from Newcastle to William Osula
Newcastle players Joelinton and Joe Willock reacted to a message from the club to William Osula after the striker was linked with an exit.
The Magpies are enduring a frustrating transfer window this summer and have repeatedly been spurned by their targets.
Bryan Mbeumo looks set to join Man United and Marc Guehi seems likely to be on his way to Liverpool, with both players targeted by Eddie Howe’s side earlier in the window.
And after Joao Pedro decided to join Chelsea over the Magpies, the North Eastern club appear to be scrambling to find alternative options.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is being considered by Newcastle after not appearing on the club’s target lists at the beginning of the summer, and the ex-Everton man’s potential arrival could result in a departure from St. James’ Park.

Newcastle send message to exit-linked Osula
Premier League players are beginning to make their returns from their summer holidays after a taxing season.
And following his return, Newcastle shared a message to their striker on Instagram, captioned: “Good to see you again, William Osula”.
The post was liked by Joelinton and Willock. Despite linking up with his side for pre-season, Osula has been linked with a loan exit after struggling to break into the Magpies’ starting XI.
If Calvert-Lewin does join Eddie Howe’s side, the Dane will find himself slipping further down the pecking order and may need to leave to further his development.
Newcastle transfer problems guarantee Isak stays
Football Insider Verdict
Newcastle’s frustrating summer has come as a surprise, given the club will be playing Champions League football next season.
After several frugal windows and with a place in Europe’s most prestigious club competition secured, St. James’ Park would appear to be a desirable destination.
However, it is proving to be anything but and as a consequence, it would be incredibly surprising to see Newcastle part with their stars, given it looks like they will be unable to replace them.
Alexander Isak has been most heavily linked with a move away, but the Swedish striker’s steep asking price may be further increased.
With just the former Borussia Dortmund striker and Osula as options at number nine, the Magpies cannot afford to be in the market for multiple strikers.
