John Hartson issues brutal response to Rangers fan who has a pop at him
By Amir Mir
John Hartson has issued a brutal response to a Rangers fan who stated that he was not the “smartest guy” after he predicted the Gers to be humiliated in the Old Firm derby last Sunday.
Former Celtic striker Hartson slammed the club for celebrating the 1-1 draw like their life depended on it as he reminded them of the 33 point gap the Bhoys have on their rivals.
Prior to the encounter last weekend, many felt that Rangers would be heavily beaten by their opponents who have not lost a single fixture in the Scottish domestic scene this term.
Those thoughts were mainly down to the fact that Brendan Rodgers had guided his team to three wins earlier on in the campaign against Rangers, including a 5-1 win at Celtic in September.
With the duo sharing the spoils on the day, a Gers fan reminded Hartson of his comments and he issued this response.

“Smart enough not to celebrate a draw like my life depended on it,” Hartson responded. “How many points?”

Like any typical Old Firm clash, the game was full of commitment, tough tackles, goals and controversy.
Stuart Armstrong had given the home side the lead in the first half added with a number of tasty tackles from both teams during that opening period.
With minutes left on the clock, centre-back Clint Hill equalised for the away team to the delight of stand-in coach Graeme Murty and his supporters.
However, Hill was involved in some controversy in the dying minutes of the game when his high tackle brought down Leigh Griffiths in the penalty area with the referee opting against awarding a spot kick.
