John Hartson makes this plea to Rangers fans after Celtic win

By Amir Mir

John Hartson made a plea to Rangers fans for them to stop talking about the gap between Celtic getting closer following their 2-1 Old Firm defeat on Saturday afternoon.

Brendan Rodgers side beat their bitter rivals for a third time this season when goals from Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair helped the away side secure all three points.

The Gers did take the lead in the first half when striker Kenny Miller opened the scoring, but his goal was cancelled out by summer signing duo Dembele and Sinclair.

As a result of that victory, the Hoops are now 19 points clear at the top of the SPL table and they have a game in hand on their Glasgow counterparts.

After the game, former Bhoys striker Hartson had this message for Rangers supporters as posted on his personal Twitter account.

This was the fourth time this year that both teams have met, on two occasions during cup competitions and the other two times in the SPL.

The first time, Warburton’s side claimed a penalty shoot-out victory in the Scottish League Cup semi-final in April, while the Ibrox club were still a Championship outfit.

Sine then, they have lost on three occasions, including a 5-1 thumping in the SPL in September and being knocked out of the league cup.

They will meet for the final time this season in March when the Gers travel to Ibrox for a Premiership clash.
