John Hartson posts Twitter message to Celtic fans ahead of Hearts clash

By Will Butcher

John Hartson is desperate to see Celtic secure their 48th Scottish Premiership title against Hearts on Sunday afternoon at Tynecastle.

Celtic need to secure all three points to hold aloft the league trophy, as they sit 22 points clear from Aberdeen eight games away from the finishing line.

Former Bhoys striker Hartson posted a tongue-in-cheek comment on his personal Twitter account, stating he had “lost count” of the points difference separating Celtic from the rest.

With nine games to go, Celtic have only dropped four points all season after picking up 27 victories and two draws.

The Hoops will be hoping to do the triple over Hearts, after already beating the Jam Tarts 2-1 on Tyneside before a Scott Sinclair brace proved crucial in a 4-0 win at Celtic Park.

However, Rodgers’ side will have to go without strikers Moussa Dembele or Leigh Griffiths, with both out injured. That leaves former Aston Villa star Sinclair up front.

Three points would see Celtic also move closer to breaking the record for points won in a season, with the Hoops currently holding the record after getting 103 in 2001-02.

Former Liverpool boss Rodgers has taken to life in Glasgow, and after winning the Scottish League Cup, he could be about to add a Scottish Premiership title to his bow on Sunday.
