Jose Mourinho cited as Tottenham told 'fans are not happy' after development - expert
Alan Hutton has insisted Tottenham can “be better” with the players and squad Antonio Conte has at his disposal.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back said the current situation at the London club reminds him of the Jose Mourinho era.
On Sunday (6 November), the Lilywhites were booed off at half time in their eventual 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs’ second half come back wasn’t enough to stop the Reds from bagging their first away win of the season in London.
As quoted by the Guardian after the game, Conte asked the Spurs fans for “time and patience” as he continues his rebuild of the team.
But the Italian boss insisted that the team has to show respect to the fans.

Hutton suggested the fans are not happy with the manager’s style of play.
“I think the fans are getting their frustrations across for the style of football,” he told Football Insider.
“They are constantly going behind in games for whatever reason and then you see the better Tottenham team.
“It reminds me a little bit of when Mourinho was in charge and they played ultra defensive. They were getting victories and scraping through games and everyone was happy with that as long as they won a trophy.
“It seems that way at this moment. That fans are not happy with certain things but they will deal with it as long as there is a trophy at the end.
“I just think they can be better with the squad and players that they have. But I do not think they have to be as defensive as they are at this moment in time.“
