Josh Acheampong bids farewell after confirmed Chelsea player exit
Chelsea full-back Josh Acheampong was among the players to react after a confirmed exit from Stamford Bridge was announced.
Acheampong enjoyed something of a breakthrough season at Chelsea, stepping up when injuries to Reece James and Malo Gusto left the squad short at right-back.
It’s been a memorable season as Acheampong penned a long-term deal with Chelsea during the January window, which initially settled speculation surrounding his future at the club.
However, despite catching the eye across his 19 senior appearances, increasing competition in the position has sparked fresh rumours over a potential move.
Football Insider reported that Chelsea are open to offers for Acheampong this summer, with growing interest from several clubs monitoring his situation.
But while questions remain over where he’ll be playing next season, he was quick to share his reaction after a teammate’s confirmed departure.

Zak Sturge confirms Chelsea exit as Millwall seal permanent transfer
With Acheampong stepping up from the academy, fellow Chelsea youngster Zak Sturge took a different path, heading out on loan to Millwall for the second half of last season.
Now, Sturge has confirmed his permanent departure from Stamford Bridge, announcing the move to Millwall via Instagram. He wrote: “After three years at Chelsea, it’s time for me to say goodbye.
“I want to thank the club, the fans, and everyone who has supported me during my time here. I’ve learnt so much and I’m grateful for the memories I’ve made here, I wish everyone at the club the best for the future.”
Acheampong was among those to react to the post, dropping a like alongside Omari Kellyman and Bashir Humphreys, who also left Chelsea this summer, joining Burnley on a permanent deal.
Sturge made five appearances under Alex Neil at Millwall and impressed late in the campaign, featuring in the club’s final three Championship fixtures.
Ben Chilwell linked with move to Leeds as Chelsea prepare for sale

While Sturge has officially moved on, and Acheampong’s future remains uncertain, Chelsea could also be set to lose another full-back in Ben Chilwell.
Football Insider revealed on 17 July that Leeds United are eyeing a potential deal for Chilwell and are closely monitoring his situation this summer.
Daniel Farke is reportedly eager to add top-flight experience to his newly-promoted squad, and the 28-year-old left-back would bring both leadership and quality to Elland Road.
Chelsea are prepared to sanction a permanent exit for Chilwell, who spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace. With Palace not planning to pursue a full-time deal, other clubs have stepped in to explore a move.
