Joshua Zirkzee responds to gutted Dean Huijsen’s message

Man United star Joshua Zirkzee has responded to Dean Huijsen after the Bournemouth defender expressed his disappointment over their 1-1 draw with West Ham on Monday (December 16).

The 19-year-old defender played the full 90 minutes against West Ham, helping Bournemouth climb up to sixth, just three points off the Champions League places.

Lucas Paqueta opened the scoring in the 87th minute with a penalty before Enes Unal scored the dramatic late equaliser just three minutes later to secure a point for the home side.

Huijsen is enjoying a break-out season after joining the South Coast club from Italian giants Juventus in the summer transfer window, starting six of his 11 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing zero assists in 610 minutes of action.

Zirkzee, 23, has struggled to adapt to life in England since also joining from Italy in the summer, starting nine of his 23 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing two assists in 929 minutes of action.

Huijsen took to Instagram after the draw to lament the result, saying: “Not the result we wanted but a very important point in the end,” which Zirkzee promptly ‘liked.’

The two played together in the Netherlands youth ranks before Huijsen switched allegiances to Spain, where he moved with his family when he was five years old.
