Jude Bellingham reacts to Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham reveal

Jude Bellingham has reacted to an announcement Borussia Dortmund have made regarding his younger brother Jobe Bellingham.

The former Sunderland man completed his move to Dortmund last week, after helping Regis Le Bris’ men win promotion back to the Premier League.

He notched four goals and three assists in 40 Championship appearances for the Mackems before performing well in the playoff final victory over Borussia Dortmund.

Meanwhile, the Real Madrid superstar endured a trophyless season with Los Blancos despite scoring 14 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions.

The Madrid man will look to impress under new boss Xabi Alonso next term, while playing alongside England teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Meanwhile, Dortmund revealed via Instagram on Sunday, 15 June, that Jobe Bellingham will wear the number 77 shirt for the Bundesliga giants.

The former Sunderland man’s older brother liked the post, while both players will be keen to have an impact in this summer’s Club World Cup.

The England youth international made a brave decision to follow in his brother’s footsteps in joining the Bundesliga club, as opposed to helping Sunderland in their Premier League survival battle next season.

But the 19-year-old can heavily bolster his chances of featuring regularly in the German top flight next season if he performs well in the Club World Cup.

The group stage of the tournament sees Niko Kovac’s men take on Brazilian side Fluminense on Tuesday, 17 June, before they go head-to-head with South African outfit Mamelodi Sundowns and South Korean club Ulsan HD.

Fluminense will likely hand Dortmund their toughest test in the group stage, but all three fixtures hand Bellingham an opportunity to perform against largely inferior opposition, which could help him nail down future first-team chances.
