Junior Kroupi has been absolutely robbed after announcement away from Bournemouth
Junior Kroupi should be deeply disappointed after seeing his recent performances for Bournemouth completely ignored.
Tyler Adams’ goal was allowed to stand against Man City, but it was not enough for the Cherries to claim a surprise victory at the Etihad Stadium, with Erling Haaland and Nico O’Reilly on target.
Kroupi looked dangerous against Pep Guardiola‘s side, but it was his displays throughout October that gained attention after a multitude of European giants kept tabs on him during the summer period.
Bournemouth managed to win Kroupi’s signature, moving from Lorient on a £12million deal, and Andoni Iraola will be massively grateful after the striker upped his goal tally to four in the league.
Junior Kroupi sees his performances go under the radar
Antoine Semenyo has been on fire for Bournemouth, with the likes of Liverpool and Man United keeping tabs, and his performances appear to have caused his teammate to go under the radar.
Kroupi scored once against Nottingham Forest, grabbed a brace against Crystal Palace, but was benched against Fulham in favour of Evanilson, likely due to tactical reasons.
These efforts earned him a nomination for the Premier League’s October Player of the Month award, alongside the likes of Haaland, Bryan Mbeumo, and Bruno Guimaraes.
Sadly for the Frenchman, his displays were completely overlooked due to one Man City star, who scored the same number of goals as Kroupi but with one more game under his belt.
Erling Haaland steals Bournemouth star’s thunder in October
It is difficult to overlook just how Haaland has been this season, but in the month of October, he has not been the only standout performer. Many will believe that it’s “big-six” favouritism.
No player in the Man City squad has more than one Premier League goal this season, other than Haaland, of course, a subject which has been largely debated by opposition fans all term.
Whether he has been the main force in City’s forward line or not, Kroupi does not deserve to be snubbed like he has, with the Bournemouth man achieving the same standards but in fewer matches.
