Jurgen Klopp ‘concerned’ by Liverpool takeover after ‘speaking to FSG’ – ‘if it’s getting sold,’ says pundit

Frank McAvennie has insisted Jurgen Klopp will be “concerned” by the uncertainty surrounding the ownership of Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said although he says he is not bothered by the potential sale, it must be “in the back of his mind”.

FSG announced back in November that they were open to external investment which led to reports of a full takeover being on the cards.

In the same month (27 November), the Daily Mail reported that the Reds owners held discussions with two Middle East-based consortiums over a £3billlion takeover

Representatives from consortiums from Saudi Arabia and Qatar are believed to have expressed an interest in taking over the Merseyside giants.

Last month (6 December), the Liverpool ECHO reported that the owners are leaning towards a partial sale of the club rather than a full takeover.

The Boston-based group are said to be keen to retain their majority ownership.

McAvennie suggested the uncertainty surrounding the club’s future will be a worry to Klopp.

I think Klopp will be concerned about what is happening with the club,” he told Football Insider.

If it is getting sold or not getting sold. People say it does not bother them but I am sure it must be in the back of his mind.

Every time Klopp speaks to FSG he must be wondering who is going to own it next year.
