Jurrien Timber reacts to Jorrel Hato’s ‘ready’ message after ‘Arsenal call’

Jurrien Timber was among the players to respond to Jorrel Hato’s latest message as speculation continues to grow over a potential Arsenal switch.

While the Gunners’ main focus this summer remains on strengthening their forward line, defensive reinforcements are also firmly on the radar at the Emirates.

Arsenal recently missed out on Dean Huijsen, with the 20-year-old opting to join Real Madrid after the Spanish side triggered his £50 million release clause.

Ajax youngster Hato has emerged as a long-term target for the side but face competition for his signature. Football Insider reported that Liverpool are also keen on Hato, viewing Hato as a potential long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk.

Fabrizio Romano has recently said on 11 June that Arsenal have made a “call to be informed” about Hato’s situation in the current window, suggesting Mikel Arteta’s side are keeping a close watch on any developments.

Despite the mounting interest, Hato appears focused on the present and posted an update on his current mindset, with Timber — who made the same journey from Ajax to Arsenal — showing his support.

Jorrel Hato focuses on Under-21 Euros amid transfer speculation

Despite mounting transfer speculation, Hato is currently focused on international duty with the Netherlands as they prepare for the Under-21 European Championship.

The Ajax defender posted a training update on Instagram with the caption “Ready to go” as the Dutch side prepare to face Denmark on 15 June.

His message earned reactions from several Premier League stars, including a like from potential future teammate Timber. Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch and Aston Villa’s Ian Maatsen responded with heart emojis, while Virgil van Dijk also showed support with a like.

Arne Slot’s side interest in the youngster remains strong, as Football Insider reported back in March 2024 that Liverpool had been monitoring Hato’s development closely, with scouts sent to observe him in action.

Arsenal plan double sale to make room for Jorrel Hato

Hato operates primarily on the left side of defence, either as a left-back or a left-sided centre-back. which is a profile that the Arteta’s side may soon need to fill.

Football Insider revealed Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to leave the Emirates this summer, with Borussia Dortmund showing significant interest.

Jakub Kiwior has also been linked with a possible Arsenal exit, raising the likelihood of a defensive reshuffle at the club.

Should either player depart, it could prompt Arsenal to accelerate their pursuit of Hato. However, any concrete move may hinge on how quickly sales are completed and possibly after the Under-21 European Championship.
