Leeds United’s new home kit has been described as “sexy” by former forward Noel Whelan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, Whelan delivered his verdict as Leeds revealed their new adidas shirt ahead of the 2019/20 season.
After five-years with Kappa as their kit supplier, Leeds signed a “record breaking” deal with adidas in June to supply their kit and training wear for the next five-years.

It’s the first time in the whites’ history that adidas have supplied their kit.
Speaking at the time Leeds chief executive Angus Kinnear said: “At Leeds United we continue to grow on and off the pitch and this record-breaking deal is another important step for the club.”
After a long wait, the club’s home kit was finally revealed this week.
Asked by Football Insider whether the shirt was an instant classic, Whelan said:“Yeah, it is. You never need to do much to a Leeds United kit.
“Adidas have pretty much kept it nice and simple for the occasion. It’s a kit that I call sexy.
“It’s a lovely kit that everyone will enjoy. They’ve got it right, they’ve kept it simple with the white, the blue and the badge.
“It looks very much like a Real Madrid design and if we can play half as good as Real Madrid then we’ll have half a chance!”
The home kit also features the logo of online bookmaker SBOBET.
Leeds entered a multi-year partnership with SBOBET earlier this month as they became the club’s principal partner in what’s described as the biggest commercial deal in the club’s history.
In other news, Leeds have opened preliminary talks to sign two strikers valued at £50m, according to Football Insider sources.
