Leicester City are set to trump Aston Villa to the signing of full-back James Justin after agreeing a potential £10million fee with Luton Town, Football Insider can reveal.

Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers has sanctioned a concerted move for the 21-year-old and a deal is now imminent following a key breakthrough.

A source with knowledge of the situation has told Football Insider that Leicester has settled a fee with Luton that would see them paying £7million up front plus a further £3million of add-ons.

A deal could now be finalised in the coming days in what would be major boost to Rodgers as he looks to strengthen in the right-back position ahead of next season.

As revealed by Football Insider, Villa tabled a bid of £7.5million for Justin, but he is expected to now sign for the 2016 Premier League winners.

Rodgers is keen to strengthen at right-back after letting Danny Simpson move on at the end of last season and he sees Justin providing cover and competition for Ricardo Pereira.

The 21-year-old, who can play at left-back or right-back, was named in the League One Team of the Year following his impressive displays at Luton last season which ended with promotion.

The Bedfordshire club have reluctantly agreed to sell Justin as he is about the enter final year of his contract at Kenilworth Road and they did not want to risk him running down his contract.

In other Aston Villa news, it can be REVEALED that a mammoth £15million bid is on its way.
