Kalvin Phillips reacts to Manchester City exit message
Kalvin Phillips’ Manchester City future remains uncertain following his loan spell with relegated Ipswich Town.
The 31-cap England international made 19 Premier League appearances for the Tractor Boys this term, but could not prevent Kieran McKenna’s men from an unwanted Championship return.
Philipps remains under contract at Man City until the summer of 2028, but has endured back-to-back loan spells with West Ham United and then Ipswich.
Meanwhile, Philipps could return to Leeds United after the Whites sealed their Premier League return and won the Championship title.

Phillips reacts as Jacob Wright delivers Man City departure message
Man City academy graduate Jacob Wright has joined Norwich City permanently ahead of next season, having spent the latter half of this term on loan at the Championship club.
Wright said his farewell to the Etihad Stadium side via Instagram [28 May] as he wrote: “After 11 years at this special club, my journey here has come to an end. Lots of special memories made, moments and lessons I will never forget.
“I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way throughout these past 11 years through the ups and the downs of the journey so far to help me get to where I am now. From signing for the club at just 8 years old, I always had the dream of playing in the first team for such a wonderful club, and to be able to fulfill my dreams is something I can only be forever grateful for.
“A new chapter and challenge lies ahead and I cannot wait to get started. Farewell blues.”
The 19-year-old notched four assists in 15 Championship games for Norwich, but could not help the Carrow Road club mount a serious playoff challenge, while his Instagram post attracted a like from Phillips.
Newcastle United set sights on Jack Grealish
Wright’s switch from Man City to Norwich is unlikely to prove to be a deciding factor in Pep Guardiola’s summer transfer window in the North West.

The former Premier League champions must recruit well this summer following a rare trophyless campaign this term, as they look to bridge the gap between themselves and top-flight winners Liverpool.
But while Guardiola hopes to bolster his ranks this summer, the Etihad Stadium side will also have to facilitate the exits of some of their current stars in the coming months.
Former Manchester United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains well-connected in the game, exclusively informed Football Insider that Newcastle United are considering signing Jack Grealish.
The England international has won three Premier League titles since joining Man City from Aston Villa in 2021, but has fallen out of favour with Guardiola in recent months.
Grealish made just seven top-flight starts this season, and could be set to enjoy more game time if he joins Newcastle during the transfer window.
