‘Kamikaze’ – West Ham urged to ‘terminate’ starter’s contract as fans riot after Brighton draw
David Sullivan and Karren Brady are edging towards a total fallout as pressure only continues to build on Nuno Espirito Santo and West Ham.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that West Ham could be forced to sack Nuno as the Hammers’ winless streak extends to eight games, last winning against Burnley in November.
West Ham were desperate for a win against Brighton on Tuesday, 30 December, but in a game full of controversial moments, the East Londoners were forced to settle for a single point at home.
Nuno’s side gave away two penalties, one of which was missed by Danny Welbeck, while Lucas Paqueta scored from the spot himself, but Joel Veltman‘s second-half equaliser meant the points were shared.

West Ham supporters are infuriated by Max Kilman
While many of the players struggled, it was an especially difficult night for Max Kilman, having given away the opening penalty, picked up a yellow card, and also stopped his goalkeeper from claiming a cross.
That was the corner that Veltman slotted home from, and it is fair to say, the supporters are fed up with him. One supporter wants the club to “terminate Kilman’s contract,” and that’s not all.
Labelled by many as the “worst signing in the club’s history,” some supporters even believe that the defender is on a “one-man mission” to get the Hammers relegated this season.
- @WestHamRambles: “Kilman is on a one-man mission to relegate us. Quite incredible.”
- @thomasjrennie: “Kamikaze Kilman.”
- @westhamtransfer: “One of our 3 CBs got injured last night, and the club still want to get rid of Kilman. Just shows how bad he really is.”
Kilman’s full stats vs Brighton should concern Nuno Espirito Santo
The fact that the Hammers spent £40million on the centre-back is already bad enough, but with him now being linked with a move away, it goes to show just how bad a deal it was.
As well as conceding a penalty and being at fault for the second goal, Kilman only won 50 per cent of his ground and aerial duels, won zero tackles, and only completed 50 per cent of his long balls [FotMob].
West Ham fans have voiced concerns over Kilman in previous games, but this performance was truly something to behold, as he continued to throw his teammates under the bus.
It could have been a very important three points before games against Wolves and Nottingham Forest, but instead, the Hammers remain 18th in the Premier League table, four points from safety.
Jean-Clair Todibo‘s new injury makes the situation all the more difficult, and Konstantinos Mavropanos is certainly not the answer, so fans may have to put up with Kilman for a little longer.
