Kemar Roofe delivers one-word verdict on Phillips sending off in Leeds draw v Fulham
By Harvey Byrne
Kemar Roofe has labelled teammate Kalvin Phillips’ red card against Fulham on Tuesday evening as “questionable.”
Leeds fought to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage with defender Tim Ream putting the Yorkshire giants in front within the first five minutes with an own goal.
Garry Monk’s team then led until a stoppage time equaliser from former academy man Tom Cairney.
However, Phillips, 21, received his marching orders just before on the 89th minute after receiveing a second yellow for a challenge on the experienced Scott Parker.
The sending off has been a cause for much debate and Leeds Roofe believes it may have been the wrong decision.

“The sending off,” started Roofe speaking to BBC Radio Leeds before a brief pause.
“Questionable, but obviously things like that happen in the game and everyone dug in, but unfortunately they got the goal and it’s disappointing.”
The red marked Phillips’ second senior sending off of the campaign after he received a straight red in December’s 2-0 defeat against Brighton.
He will now miss Leeds’ next two fixtures which see them take on QPR at Elland Road before hosting second in the league Brighton.
The Yorkshire giants have each of Liam Bridcutt, Eunan O’Kane and Ronaldo Vieira to cover for the youth graduate in his absence.
With 10 matches of the season left Leeds will be hoping the rest of their squad remains available as they aim for a play-off finish.
