Kenny: 'Incredible' John Lundstram will get even better at Rangers - 'I watched him for years'
John Lundstram will only get better at Rangers after recovering from a poor start to life at Ibrox.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper and Sheffield United fan Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s resurgence.
Lundstram, 28, has become a fan favourite at Ibrox after initially struggling for game time following his move from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021.
In footage posted by Rangers’ official Twitter account from Sunday’s win over Dundee United (8 May), a chant about Lundstram echoed around Ibrox as the players performed a lap of honour.
The same thing happened after he scored the vital goal to take Rangers to the Europa League final in their second-leg win over RB Leipzig (5 May).
After watching Lundstram turn out for Sheffield United over a number of years, Kenny admits he never thought Lundtsram would reach the heights he has hit with Rangers.

“He has shown the quality he has,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He didn’t have the best of starts at Rangers, maybe it was the pressure of heading to such a massive club. Who knows?
“What a way to show people how good you are on the top stage. That Europa League goal will be remembered forever.
“It’s massive for the whole club. I watched him for years at Sheffield United, did I ever think he would be playing in a Europa League final? I don’t think the thought even occurred to me.
“He deserves it all though because he has been incredible and I think he is only going to get better the more confidence he has.”
Lundstram has made 46 total appearances for Rangers.
At Sheffield United, he made 120 appearances, scoring eight goals.
