'I'm ashamed' - Kenny Miller delivers verdict on humiliating Rangers defeat v Celtic
By Matt Farr
Rangers veteran Kenny Miller has admitted he is ashamed at the manner of the club’s defeat to Celtic on Saturday.
Miller and his side were beaten 5-1 by their Old Firm rivals at Ibrox, ensuring the club failed to win any of their six meetings with Celtic across all competitions this season.
It is also the second time this term that they have been beaten by a 5-1 scoreline, with Rangers losing their first meeting by the same margin at Parkhead in September.
In a video shared on the club’s official Twitter account after the game, the 37-year-old delivered a damning verdict of his side’s ’embarrassing’ performance on Saturday, and admitted their summer recruitment process will be ‘key’.

Miller said: He said: “I think it goes without saying, it’s disappointing. I’m ashamed, embarrassed with the scoreline and performance. I don’t know what you can even say after the game. We were second best all over the park.
“The lads put effort in and tried their best, but the quality was just not where it should be. I think the score emphasises the gulf at the moment, and that’s something we need to fix very, very quickly.
“It’s coming to the end of the season. We need to finish on some kind of high. The recruitment process over the summer is going to be key.”
Miller has been arguably the standout performer for Rangers this season, netting 13 goals and six assists for the club across 43 appearances in all competitions.
He found the back of the net during their latest humbling by Celtic, albeit having already been put to the sword and destined for defeat.
It has already been confirmed that Miller will remain a Rangers player next season, much to the delight of fans, ending prolonged speculation over his future at the club beyond the current campaign.
Rangers had announced the one-year contract extension on their official Twitter account on Friday.
