Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell has revealed that he would want Mauricio Pochettino to be the next Goodison Park boss if he was in charge.

Tottenham manager Pochettino has worked wonders in North London, turning Spurs from perennial underachievers into Premier League title contenders and many have considered him as being a future Barcelona boss later in his career.

It seems extremely unrealistic that Everton, who sacked Ronald Koeman on Monday, would be able to bring in the Argentine boss, especially as he is highly regarded as one of the best bosses in the Premier League at the moment.

However that hasn’t stopped Campbell from suggesting that Pochettino would be top of his list to move to Merseyside.

When asked by a Blues fan who he would give the job to, Campbell said on his personal Twitter account: “Pochettino would do nicely.”

Pochettino arrived at Tottenham in 2014 after a short but successful stint with Southampton.

He has since led Spurs back into the Champions League as well as their highest ever Premier League finishes in the past couple of seasons as they came third then second.

The Argentine has worked wonders in improving the club, but is yet to win any major silverware, with many suggest that he needs to do if he wants to keep hold of some of his best players like Harry Kane and Dele Alli.
