Kieran Maguire: Farhad Moshiri told to ‘reconsider what’s on the table’ after Everton takeover twist in last hours
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri needs to reconsider the value of his club after falling well behind Tottenham in revenue.
That is the opinion of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who spoke exclusively to Football Insider about the commercial contrast between Everton and Spurs.
The Liverpool Echo report that Everton remain in talks with New York-based fund MSP Sports Capital regarding investment in the Merseyside club.

However, the Financial Times reported on 15 February that MSP have now lined up a £3.1billion bid for Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Jahm Najafi, who is the chair of MSP Sports Capital, is weeks away from formally approaching Spurs owner Joe Lewis after structuring the bid with a consortium of investors.
Football Insider sources revealed on Monday (27 February) that MSP Sports Capital remain interested in Everton despite their simultaneous overtures towards Tottenham.
Maguire believes the Spurs’ interest from MSP could cause Moshiri to reevaluate the value of Everton.
“I think Farhad Moshiri needs to reconsider what’s on the table from his perspective, in terms of both price and the share in the club,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“If an offer is attractive enough, then MSP will consider it, but Everton have a lot of catching up to do in terms of Spurs and their revenue generation.
“They have a different type of fan base to Spurs.
“The ability to monetise the football tourists is that much more difficult until they start to build up more of a global fan base.
“One of the best things about Everton is that it is a local football club and Evertonians take pride in that.
“The downside of that is that local fans may buy one shirt a year and a bit of merchandise.

“Meanwhile, there is a policy at Spurs to sell lots of tickets on a matchday basis as they know their fanbase will come from all around the globe and spend big in their megastore.
“They pay top dollar for matchday tickets, and will then spend a fortune in the merchandise area as well.“
