Kieran Maguire: FSG ‘will be happy’ after Liverpool accounts are published

Liverpool owners FSG will be “pretty happy” with their latest financial accounts despite posting losses of £10million last season.

That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that Liverpool’s financial figures are impressive considering the challenges they faced last season.

Liverpool revealed their 2022-23 accounts at the end of February revealing overall revenue of £594million and a loss of just under £10million.

The Reds endured a disappointing Premier League campaign with Jurgen Klopp’s side finishing fifth at the end of the season.

The Merseyside club were also knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16 and had reduced capacity due to ongoing work on the Anfield Road stand.

Overall, Maguire believes that Liverpool can take plenty of positives from their latest accounts.

I suspect Liverpool will be pretty happy to report losses of only £10million given the challenges they faced in the 202-23 season,” Maguire

They were hit by reduced matchday attendances and a fifth-placed finish will have been below expectations.

That will have cost them by not qualifying for the Champions League this season.
