Kieran Trippier and Joelinton react excitedly after Newcastle agree new signing
Newcastle players were quick to respond after the club confirmed the arrival of a new signing ahead of the upcoming season.
The Magpies have endured a frustrating summer window so far, missing out on several top targets who opted to join other clubs.
Bryan Mbeumo decided to join Manchester United last month, while long-term goalkeeping target James Trafford has returned to Manchester City — leaving the side needing to reassess their options.
A major addition has already been made, with Newcastle completing the signing of Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest in a £55million deal, adding pace and directness to Eddie Howe’s front line.
Now, attention has turned to solving the goalkeeping situation, with the Newcastle hierarchy identifying an alternative to Trafford in what they see as a key area to strengthen before the new campaign begins.

Newcastle confirm signing of Aaron Ramsdale on loan
It was confirmed on 2 August that Aaron Ramsdale has officially joined Newcastle on a season-long loan deal.
The club announced the move via their official Instagram account, unveiling Ramsdale with the caption: “Aaron Ramsdale. Welcome to St. James’ Park.” The post received likes from teammates including Kieran Trippier, Joelinton and Jacob Murphy.
Newcastle have secured an option to buy for Ramsdale as part of the loan deal from Southampton, giving them the flexibility to make the move permanent should the England international impress.
Ramsdale only joined Southampton from Arsenal last summer, but following the Saints’ relegation, he has returned to the Premier League after just one year.
Newcastle had been pursuing Trafford for much of the window, but talks with Burnley eventually collapsed, paving the way for Manchester City to swoop in and re-sign their former academy talent.
As for Ramsdale, last season was one to forget. He kept just four clean sheets and conceded 68 goals across all competitions for Southampton. Still, Football Insider have revealed that Eddie Howe is a big fan of Ramsdale and have a long-standing interest in the goalkeeper.

Appearances | 32 |

Newcastle dealt setback in striker pursuit
Newcastle’s recruitment team has had to pivot multiple times this window, and another blow may be on the horizon in their search for a striker.
Football Insider revealed that Wolves are increasingly confident of keeping hold of Jorgen Strand Larsen, despite interest from Newcastle, who view the Norwegian as a possible replacement for Callum Wilson, and potentially Alexander Isak.
With Wolves already losing Matheus Cunha to Manchester United earlier this summer, and having only just signed Strand Larsen permanently, they are determined to keep the forward at Molineux.
