Newcastle United fans think Kieran Trippier is set to leave St James’ Park imminently after his latest social media activity.
The right-back has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer, as Football Insider revealed the club are open to letting him leave.
He has now stoked the fire of these rumours by posting a picture of himself in Dubai with Al-Ettifaq’s head of scouting Tom Spring, captioned “good meeting”.
The Saudi club, managed by Steven Gerrard, have been interested in making a move to sign Trippier in recent weeks, and fans now think a move is drawing close.
Some moved to explain that he and Spring are simply friends, and he was visiting him while on holiday, but others insisted he would’ve been aware of the optics surrounding the photo.

Trippier featured 39 times for Eddie Howe last season, but a noticeable dip in the level of his performances became clear towards the end of the year.
His displays while at Euro 2024 with England also brought close scrutiny to his declining levels, with many suggesting he may be finished at the top level.
Amid links with a move to the Middle East, fans are convinced he will be leaving before the window closes after the image went viral on social media.
Others took aim at the right-back, suggesting it was “terrible” of him to post the image knowing how people would likely react.
