Kieran Trippier reacts to Lewis Hall announcement at Newcastle
Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier has reacted to an announcement from the club relating to fellow full-back Lewis Hall.
The Magpies were handily beaten by an in-form Liverpool side 2-0 on Wednesday evening (26 February).
Question’s were raised over Alexander Isak’s absence from the Newcastle team, with some believing the Sweden international was left out so the Reds could not get an early view of how he may perform, when the two sides meet in the Carabao Cup final.
Callum Wilson is set to leave Newcastle in the summer, and despite deputising for Isak, the former Bournemouth man will need replacing when his contract expires.
Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Newcastle, as other Premier League club’s shut the door on England’s captain, and whilst he is more likely to be used as a replacement to Isak, at £53million he would be an excellent addition.
Newcastle ace Lewis Hall wins Player of the Month
Hall has been named the Magpies’ Player of the Month for February, after some stellar performances from the England international.
Hall joined Newcastle from Chelsea in 2023 initially on loan, before having his move made permanent last summer.

Newcastle posted a picture of the young left-back proudly receiving his award on Instagram, which teammate Trippier then liked.
The former Tottenham right-back has featured irregularly this season, thanks to the form of Tino Livramento, but is still an important figure in the dressing room.
Newcastle focus on Carabao Cup final meeting with Liverpool
Football Insider Verdict
If the Magpies’ meeting with the Reds on Wednesday was a dress rehearsal for their Carabao Cup final, then Newcastle fans may want to avoid the trip to London.
Eddie Howe’s side were the second best team throughout the entire match, and never looked likely to beat the Premier League table-toppers.
Without Isak, Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy lacked a reliable outlet, and Liverpool’s midfield dominated Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund striker is expected to return for the final on 16 March, and the talismanic forward should provide much more of a threat to Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate than Wilson did.
