Liverpool can land PL title if Klopp swoops for enforcer who reportedly wants £60k-a-week
Liverpool can show they mean business and continue their quest to become Premier League champions by landing Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij in the summer.
The Serie A star has been a target of Liverpool and Manchester United for some time but if Jurgen Klopp can steal in ahead of their rivals, it would give the Reds the answer to their defensive issues.
A back four of Virgil van Dijk, de Vrij, Andrew Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold / Nathaniel Clyne would certainly trump Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof, Antonio Valencia, and Ashley Young.
As it stands, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip don’t cut it in the heart of Liverpool’s defence, and the two are regularly at fault for making costly errors.
De Vrij, who is a Dutch international, is out of contract this summer which means he would be available on a free transfer.

The only sticking point would be the 26-year-old’s wages.
With five goals to his name this campaign, de Vrij has amassed 38 appearances for Lazio as they hunt down qualification for the Champions League next season.
Klopp will need to move quickly though, as Inter Milan are close to agreeing a deal for him, with the defender wanting a £3million a year in wages, according to Calcio Mercato.
