Klopp drops strong hint about 25-year-old starting for Liverpool v Bournemouth
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dropped a hint that red-hot Mohamed Salah will be starting today, as they travel to face Bournemouth.
Despite the 25-year-old having featured heavily in Liverpool’s recent fixtures, including the hard-fought Merseyside derby last weekend, Klopp regards Salah as being “naturally fit”.
And he’s moved to squash doubts that Salah would be rested.
Talking in the Liverpool Echo, Klopp said: “He had time out already. In the last international break he did not play for Egypt, he didn’t start at Stoke, we take him off as soon as possible. That’s how it is.
“I am not sure he played a lot more minutes than other players in our team, but it is true he starts often.
“It’s because he is in a very very good moment and it is difficult to think about leaving him out,” Klopp added.
This will be music to the ears of Liverpool fans, as Salah is the Premier League’s top-scorer this season with 13, also tallying three assists.
However, with a busy Christmas period looming, Liverpool might have to experiment with other attacking options to keep the Egyptian’s legs firing.
In other Liverpool news, one journalist has noted that a Premier League club could struggle to sing out of favour Liverpool striker in january.
