Koeman identifies PL duo ahead of Everton defensive shake-up - report
By Dominic Toner
Everton manager Ronald Koeman is eyeing a summer move for Harry Maguire and Michael Keane, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claim that the Toffees are showing interest in Hull centre-back Maguire, who has impressed for the relegation threatened club this season.
It is understood that the Everton hierarchy has discussed the 24-year-old as they are keen for a defensive shake-up in the next transfer window.
The report details that Koeman is also eyeing Burnley centre-back Keane and the 24-year-old earned his first two England caps during the international break as a result for his form.
The Merseyside club currently have Ashley Williams, Ramiro Funes Mori, Phil Jagielka and Mason Holgate as their centre-back options in their squad.

However, Koeman is keen to freshen up his squad with some younger players and has identified two players that have performed well in the top flight this season.
Maguire has caught the eye for his commanding Hull performances, with the Englishman possessing great technical ability and defensive traits.
Meanwhile, Keane has helped Burnley avoid a relegation battle this season and is regarded as one of the league’s best performers this campaign.
Football Insider verdict:
Everton certainly need to improve their defensive options in the next transfer window and going for proven Premier League performers is the safer option. Both Maguire and Keane would be great additions to the Toffees squad, with the pair only aged 24. They are both showing the signs that they can become top defenders and may be ready to make the next step in their careers. A move to Goodison Park for them would be a significant step and the chance to work with Koeman would be a difficult one to refuse. Everton fans would probably just lean towards signing Keane if they could have only one, but either would enhance their chances of breaking into the top six of the Premier League.
