‘Kroenkes accused of gross negligence’ – Fans rage at Arsenal injury news
Arsenal fans have taken their frustration out on majority owners Kroenke Sports Entertainment (KSE) and Mikel Arteta following an update on Gabriel Martinelli’s injury.
During Arsenal’s Carabao Cup loss to Newcastle on 5 February, Martinelli was forced off in the first half due to injury.
David Ornstein confirmed on 7 February that the Brazilian will be sidelined for “more than a month” meaning he will miss several crucial fixtures.
Supporters had urged Arsenal to sign a forward in January due to injury concerns, but no attacking reinforcements arrived.
Martinelli has faced criticism at Arsenal this season, but with Mikel Arteta‘s attacking options already stretched thin, his absence will be a significant blow.
Gabriel Martinelli absence adds to Arsenal injury woes
The Gunners have endured an injury crisis this season, with key players like Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka also struggling with fitness issues.
During the transfer window, they explored options to strengthen their attack as seen when Arsenal made a move for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, but no deal materialised.

With Martinelli sidelined, the club will now have to rely on the likes of Leandro Trossard, Raheem Sterling, and 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri to fill the gaps on the flanks.
Arsenal supporters have been highly critical of Sterling’s performances this season, but this could be an opportunity for him to prove himself.
Mikel Arteta and Stan Kroenke blamed by fans for injury situation
With no forward signed in the January transfer window, it has now been two years since Arsenal last made a permanent attacking addition.
The club has been consistently linked with players like Alexander Isak and Nico Williams, but with no new arrivals, the Gunners must now rely on internal options to navigate a crucial period.
Frustrated fans have directed their anger at the board, majority owner Kroenke, and Arteta for allowing the squad to reach this point. One supporter called the lack of signings “gross negligence from KSE” while another defended Arteta, saying “KSE have failed him.”
