‘Kylian Mbappe belongs at Man United’ – Sheikh Jassim planning sensational signing to win over fans

Sheikh Jassim would love to bring Kylian Mbappe to Man United if his takeover is successful, sources have told Football Insider.

The United bidder loves Mbappe and has told allies he believes that the 24-year-old, who is valued at around £170million by Paris Saint-Germain, “belongs at Man United”.

Mbappe’s current contract at Paris Saint-Germain runs until 2024 and includes the player option of a 12-month extension.

But, the France international has reaffirmed his decision not the extend beyond next summer.

Football Insider has learned that PSG will offer Mbappe a new deal and if he chooses not to sign he is likely to be sold this summer.

However, the Ligue 1 club will be holding out for offers that meet their £170m valuation.

Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim, alongside British businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, have been competing to purchase the Red Devils for the best part of eight months.

The former has lodged five bids to take over the Manchester giants and reports from Qatar have suggested that his most recent offer was enough to convince the Glazer family to sell.

No official announcement over new ownership has been made by the Red Devils with the current owners set to decide on a preferred bidder this week after putting the club up for sale back in November.
