La Liga expert issues ‘100%’ De Jong claim as Man United line up £60m+ swoop
Man United could use their “virtually unlimited resources” to tempt Frenkie De Jong away from Barcelona, according to Kevin Campbell.
The former Arsenal striker, who delivered weekly punditry for La Liga TV last season, exclusively told Football Insider that the 24-year-old “would be excellent” at Old Trafford.
According to El Nacional (5 December), Man United are interested in De Jong – with Barcelona unwilling to entertain offers of below £60m for the former Ajax midfielder.

The report claims club president Joan Laporta will be forced to consider letting the Netherlands international go due to the Catalan club’s bleak financial situation.
De Jong cost Barcelona a reported £65m in 2019 and he is contracted at Camp Nou until 2026.
When asked if the Red Devils could swoop for the midfield star, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “100%. This is how football is now.
“If a club is struggling then there will be other teams looking to take advantage and get your best players.
“Man United have virtually unlimited resources.
“Frenkie De Jong is a top player. I’ve watched him for a couple of seasons and he would be excellent at Old Trafford.
“I think Barca are going to find it extremely hard to hold on to him.”

De Jong has made 111 appearances for Barca and has contributed 10 goals and 14 assists.
The Red Devils sit sixth in the Premier League after winning their last two top-flight games.
