Lauren: This emerging Arsenal ace can be best in the world

By Dominic Toner

Ex-Arsenal defender Lauren believes that Hector Bellerin can become the best right-back in the world.

The 21-year-old has emerged as the Gunners’ first-choice full-back in the past couple of seasons and is now regarded as one of the best in the Premier League.

He is blessed with phenomenal pace and is a great attacking threat, while also proving his qualities in defensive situations.

Dani Alves, Philipp Laham, Dani Carvajal and Juanfran are among some of the best right-backs in the world, but Bellerin has certainly announced himself to the European stage with his performances.

Lauren claims that Bellerin can be the best in the world if his rapid development continues.

“Hector is world class,” Lauren said, as quoted by the club’s official website. “He’s still young and he still needs to work on some things, but he’s a very, very good player and a very good right-back.

“If he carries on the way he’s going, he can become the best right-back in the world.”

Bellerin agreed a long-term deal at the Emirates in November after he was linked with a move to Barcelona or Manchester City.

The Spanish international decided to commit his future to the Gunners and he is one of the first names on Arsene Wenger’s team sheet.

He has made 91 senior appearance for Arsenal since breaking through the club’s academy and began his development at Barcelona before then.

Arsenal are nine points adrift of Premier League leaders Chelsea and they will need their star player such as Bellerin to perform if they are to bridge the gap.
