Leandro Trossard sends ‘important’ Arsenal message as deal all but done

Leandro Trossard issued a message to the Arsenal fans amid growing speculation about his future in North London.

Arsenal sealed a 1-0 win over Newcastle in their final home game of the season, officially confirming their place in next season’s Champions League.

Declan Rice produced a standout performance, netting the only goal of the match with a stunning strike from outside the box.

Trossard was named in the starting XI with Mikel Merino suspended, but his evening was cut short after being forced off with an injury.

The Belgian forward now has just one year remaining on his current contract, but Football Insider revealed that Arsenal are in advanced talks over a new deal for Trossard.

Amid the speculation surrounding his future, the Belgian had a message for the fans after the game.

Arsenal set to resist Saudi push for Leandro Trossard

Despite ongoing speculation, Trossard shared a determined but appreciative message with supporters on Instagram, writing: “Important win, perfect Sunday.”

His post received support from teammates, with Declan Rice commenting: “My Brother” while Merino, William Saliba, and Aston Villa’s Youri Tielemans also liked the post.

However, not all fans were as enthusiastic, with some Arsenal supporters calling for Trossard to be sold rather than handed a new contract.

Even so, Saudi Pro League clubs continue to show strong interest in Trossard and are expected to return with fresh offers this summer.

Despite the outside pressure and sections of fan discontent, Arsenal remain keen to keep hold of Trossard, who has played an important role under Mikel Arteta this season. The former Brighton forward has made 55 appearances in all competitions, contributing 10 goals and nine assists.

With the club seemingly choosing to keep Trossard at the club, Football Insider revealed that Gabriel Martinelli could leave Arsenal as they search for a new winger.

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has revealed that Arsenal are prepared to step up their pursuit of AC Milan star Rafael Leao should Martinelli depart.

Club scouts have been monitoring the Portuguese international since before the start of the season, and a move could now be on the cards.

With a new winger targeted and Trossard expected to sign fresh terms, Martinelli’s potential exit could clear the path for Leao to arrive in North London this summer.
