Leeds youngster Kalvin Phillips has been named in the EFL team of the week following his impressive display against Bolton on Sunday afternoon.
The 21-year-old started the clash at the Macron Stadium in the midfield alongside Eunan O’Kane, playing the full 90 minutes alongside scoring Leeds’ first and third goals in the 3-2 victory.
Phillips’ goals proved decisive in Thomas Christiansen’s first competitive match in charge and plenty of onlookers hailed his performance with the official EFL Twitter account including him as the only Whites player to be named in the opening weekend’s team of the week.

Phillips only agreed a new contract at Leeds taking up to 2021 last week and fans will now be delighted to see him start the season in top form.
The young midfielder is a product of the prestigious club’s famous academy and marked his debut in April 2015 in a 4-3 defeat against Midlands outfit Wolves.
He has since played 53 times in total for the club, returning four goals alongside two assists.
He will now be hoping to bring his fine opening day form into future matches and Leeds will take on Port Vale at Elland Road on Wednesday before hosting Preston on Saturday.
