Leeds expected starting XI v Sheffield United: January signing on the bench, fan fave starts
New Leeds manager Paul Heckingbottom is looking for a fast start from his players as he prepares to face three games that he has said are “season defining”.
Leeds face three of their promotion rivals next, starting with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in front of the TV cameras on Saturday.
It’s a baptism of fire for Heckingbottom, with a squad that’s still suffering the effects of injuries and a spate of suspensions.
He will be without star attacker Samu Saiz who still has two games of a six-match suspension to serve.
However, Heckingbottom did get some brilliant fitness news that will boost his side before the game on Saturday, and will definitely shape his team selection.
Following the Sheffield United clash, Leeds play Bristol City and Derby, and they will need to pick up at least four points to maintain a charge towards the play-offs.
They’re currently in 10th place, seven points off Bristol City in sixth.
