'Blown over like a crisp packet' - Leeds fans blast attacking star's first half v Aston Villa

Leeds United fans have taken to social media to blast the performance of Ezgjan Alioski in the first half of the clash against Aston Villa.

The Whites went into half time 1-0 up thanks to a Pontus Jansson header from a corner, the Swedish international scoring his first goal of the campaign.

It was not all good news for Thomas Christiansen though, with star midfielder Pablo Hernandez, who delivered the ball for Jansson to score, forced off just minutes before the half time break as a result of an injury, limping off the pitch to be replaced by Kemar Roofe.

However, fans were not happy with what they saw from Alioski, who endured a difficult first half with wayward passing and a lack of threat down the flanks, and they turned to Twitter to voice their frustrations.

Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Alioski has been a crucial part of the first team squad since arriving from Swiss side FC Lugano over the summer, making 17 appearances, scoring five goals and chipping with three assists in England’s second tier.

He has been in impressive form over the last few weeks for the Whites, scoring four goals in as many games as they looked to bounce back from a disastrous run of form, which saw them lose seven of their nine league games.
