'Pretty much the new Ronaldo' - Leeds fans drool over prospect of signing dazzling attacker

Leeds United fans have been drooling over the prospect of signing Benfica attacker Diogo Goncalves.

Portuguese newspaper Record reported on their website that Leeds are eyeing up a summer move for Goncalves, 21, as Andrea Radrizzani looks to adopt the way Wolves have gone about their transfer business in the last 18 months.

It is understood that the Portugal Under-21 international’s agent is Jorge Mendes and Wolves were looking to sign him up themselves before failing to do so.

Whites owner Radrizzani has been critical of the way that the Championship leaders have used Mendes to sign players but it now appears that he may be looking to utilise the Portuguese super-agent himself.

Goncalves has made sporadic appearances for Benfica this term as the Lisbon giants fight it out with Porto for the Liga NOS title.

The dazzling attacker, who is known for his pace and ability to play on both wings, has made 13 appearances in all competitions this season, supplying two assists.
