'Total disgrace', 'Pathetic' - Leeds fans destroy Christiansen decision in defeat v Newport
Leeds United fans have taken to social media to rage over Thomas Christiansen’s decision to bring on star attacker Samuel Saiz in their shock FA Cup defeat to Newport County.
The Whites let a 1-0 half time lead slip as the League Two side netted twice in the second 45 minutes, including an 89th minute winner, to secure a 2-1 win and progression to the fourth round of the competition, dumping the former winner out at the first hurdle.
However there was a moment of controversy in the aftermath of Shawn McCoulsky’s late winner, as referee Dean proceeded to show Saiz, who was came off the substitutes’ bench after 75 minutes, a straight red card prior to Leeds’ kick off.
While the reasoning behind the Spaniard’s dismissal is unclear, Newport’s Robbie Wilmott seeming to indicate something on his shirt to the officials, Leeds fans have turned to Twitter to blast the decision from the manager to bring him off the bench, with the sending off set to see the summer signing set to serve at least a three game suspension.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Said before the game I’ve read this story before. Now Saiz has picked up a pointless ban. Typical #lufc never ever learn from previous mistakes
