Leeds fans on Twitter question decision to omit 26-year-old from starting line-up v Preston
By Harvey Byrne
Leeds fans on Twitter have questioned Thomas Christiansen’s decision to start attacker Samu Saiz on the bench in the club’s clash against Preston on Saturday afternoon.
The Yorkshire giants are lining up at Elland Road for their third fixture of a busy week for the club and their 4-1 midweek win over Port Vale saw Saiz start and bag a hat-trick.
Many felt that the performance was deserving of handing the 26-year-old a second start in quick succession.
But, fans have aired their disappointment on social media after it was revealed that he was starting from the bench at Elland Road with the established Pablo Hernandez taking up the attacking midfield position.

I would have started Saiz today but still happy with that team. Vieira and Dallas on the bench shows we have strength in depth #lufc

Harsh on Saiz but would be harsh to drop Pablo too. Real options though this year. #lufc

Saiz is one of Leeds’ 12 incoming players this summer after completing a move from Spanish club Huesca in July.
He was left on the bench in last Sunday’s Championship opening victory over Bolton, but he will be hoping to make his bow in England’s second tier in the match against Preston at Elland Road.
A win for Leeds could also see them move to the top at this early stage and Saiz will be looking to help the Whites win promotion this season.
In other Leeds news, Whites fans also reacted on Twitter to Eunan O’Kane’s contract extension.
