Leeds United fans have taken to social media to rave over the performance of goalkeeping star Bailey Peacock-Farrel after his heroics in the 2-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday.
The Whites picked up just their third victory of 2018 thanks to goals from Tom Pearce, his first ever strike for the senior side, and Ezgjan Alioski, their efforts sandwiching a Paudie O’Connor goal which had levelled the scores for the visitors.
However, despite the three points, it was not all smooth sailing for Paul Heckingbottom’s men in the Yorkshire Derby, as his former side, facing their old boss for the first time since his departure for Elland Road in February, threatened to snatch a point, or more, with some bright attacking play.
As a result, it was up to Peacock-Farrell to keep their efforts at bay, and he put in another starring performance with a handful of smart stops – while he was also heralded for his berating of Samu Saiz after the Spaniard’s lack of effort in the first half.
His display between the sticks saw fans left delighted on Twitter, as they backed him
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:
Only player that is actually playing well is BPF. Fair play to Pearce with his goal too but this has been awful. No leadership or communication on that pitch. Shambles. Barnsley being let play. They're a bad side. #LUFC #MOT

BPF having a go at Saiz, he doesn’t mind telling the senior players when they aren’t pulling their weight #lufc

This team is useless! Pontus and Alioski playing like we've already won the league! Phillips thinks he's Edgar David's and this sums us up, signed 16 new players yet best on the park are BPF and Tom Pearce

Well done PH, giving young lads like BPF, Pearce and O’Connor their chances in the first team. Building for the future!????

The 21-year-old shot stopper has now made nine appearances for the first team this season after usurping both Felix Wiedwald and Andy Lonergan in the senior side.
