Leeds fans react to Caleb Ekuban display in 2-2 draw v Bristol City
Leeds fans had mixed opinions about the display of striker Caleb Ekuban in the 2-2 draw with Bristol City on Sunday.
The youngster worked very hard alongside Pierre-Michel Lasogga in just his eighth league appearance this season, but couldn’t find his first Championship goal.
Fans were quick to acknowledge his contribution and some think he’s showing enough promise to be one for the future.
However, too many fans are concerned that the one thing he’s missing from his game is finishing.
One fan said that although he likes Ekuban, he had a couple of chances against Bristol City that Kemar Roofe would have finished.
In the end Ekuban was taken off in the second half with the score at 2-0 to Bristol City, before goals from Lasogga and Roofe snatched a point.
Here is a selection of the best reactions to Ekuban’s display:
I do like Ekuban but had it been Roofe I reckon we’d have scored in the first half. Twice he spurned chances & also put the ball in behind Dallas when we were three on one. Hopefully Ekuban finds his feet again soon.

Ekuban makes the most sense alongside Lasogga because he gets about, works for ball back, is strong and fast. Needs the games though before we can expect much more from him.

Ekuban works hard but doesn’t look like scoring #lufc

To say that Ekuban is supposed to be the best striker we've got (miles better than Lassoga if twitter is to be believed) he was pretty terrible today, if other players had the chances he had we'd probably won #lufc

Ekuban has yet to have a shot on target. The man looks like a track & field star, but unless he starts troubling people I think we are a striker short of what Heckingbottom likes. Anita was close to our best payer for the first few months and happy to see him back.

I feel like he does the one thing ekuban can't, and that's finish. I saw a few chances we had that ekuban could've stuck a foot out but didn't. Whereas roofe would've smashed it in easily.

Still got time for Ekuban and still feel Roofe can benefit from being played there. Both have til end of season to prove there worth in the position.

Only positives today :
Hernandez – really wanted to make things happen
Lassoga – I couldn't stand the chap a few weeks back but he's put 2 solid performances in a row. His goals per minute ratio is very impressive.
Ekuban – he just needs a goal then he will be flying#lufc

Could probably do with another clinical striker though as all Ekuban can do is run and then Roofe is so inconsistent

I like Ekuban but there were three clear cut chances in the first half that Roofe would have pounced on.

It gets no easier for Leeds next as they travel to Pride Park to take on promotion-chasing Derby County in their next game on Wednesday.
