'Are we going for relegation' - Leeds fans react as centre-forward medical is scheduled
Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter after hearing that highly-rated Leyton Orient forward Sam Dalby is on his way to Elland Road after a deal was agreed between the Championship and National League clubs.
Football Insider can exclusively reveal that Dalby, 18, is heading to Leeds to undergo a scheduled medical on Tuesday and will join the Under-23s squad for the rest of the season as he is widely seen as a signing for the future.
He has agreed the terms of a two-and-a-half year contract and is set to put pen to paper within the next 24 hours
Dalby is very highly-rated by Leyton Orient after emerging into their first-team last season, although he could not stop the club from suffering relegation from League Two into the non-league.
The teenage centre-forward scored on his full debut against Crawley last term but has not netted a goal in professional football since as he has made just two appearances in the National League this campaign.
Leeds fans have been crying out for Thomas Christiansen and Victor Orta to sign a new centre-forward this month, but many are not happy to hear that their newest striker addition will yet again be for the development side.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
Sam Dalby from Leyton Orient. No idea if accurate but anyone know anything about him. No idea on this one. #lufc #MOT https://t.co/CCuOVg7TCB

We seem to be dissipating whatever transfer funds we have in small packages for future potential. Surely better to pay the going rate for a finished article goalscorer????

I just dont get what the owner is thinking, Its a well known fact investing in youth or planning for the future is a silly idea. You should only ever think about the next 6 months. Radz should give good old Pete a ring and ask some advise. #lufc
