'Composed and classy' - Leeds fans react to Klich display in friendly win v Oxford
By Danny Wright
Mateusz Klich earned his first appearance at Elland Road on Saturday when he came off the bench in the 2-0 win against Oxford United – and Leeds fans were very impressed with what they saw.
The 27-year-old only featured for the final 12 minutes of the friendly clash with Pep Clotet’s side, but his playmaking skills in the middle of the park certainly left an impression on those who were there to see.
Although Thomas Christiansen has signed a big number of players this summer, it was two familiar names in Kemar Roofe and Stuart Dallas who bagged the goals for Leeds as they finished their pre-season preparations with a handsome result.
However it was Klich who grabbed a lot of attention from the fans, most of whom were seeing the Polish midfielder for the first time after he missed the entirety of their matches in Austria through injury.
He arrived from Dutch outfit FC Twente after signing a three-year deal in June and many supporters now believe they have bagged a top quality playmaker who can help bolster their chances of promotion next season.
