Andy Lonergan has posted a rare Twitter message ahead of Leeds United’s crunch Championship clash against Derby County – and fans of the Yorkshire giants delivered mixed verdict in response.
The United goalkeeper claimed on his personal social media account that preparations have gone well for the trip to Pride Park and the players are “ready to continue where we left off on Sunday”.

United came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw with a stirring comeback at Elland Road against Bristol City to just about keep their play-off hopes alive.
Leeds travel to fourth-placed Derby needing a victory after failing to secure a win in any competition since Boxing Day.
One of the main dilemmas facing new boss Heckingbottom is whether to persist with current number one Felix Wiedwald or hand a recall to his deputy Lonergan.
Wiedwald has been roundly criticised for the missed-punch blunder that led to Bristol City’s opening goal at the weekend, which prompted ex-United keeper Paul Robinson to lead the calls for the German to be replaced this summer.
Many Leeds fans interpreted Lonergan’s Tuesday night tweet as a clear hint that he has been recalled to the starting XI for the clash at Derby.
Others are more dubious of the ex-Wolves player’s claim that the team are ready to continue in the dominant manner of their second-half performance against Bristol City.
