Fulham recorded a 2-2 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Craven Cottage in the Championship on Tuesday night – and Leeds fans on Twitter were delighted with the result.

The Lancashire outfit left it very late to secure a dramatic point against the Whites’ promotion-chasing rivals.

The result means that Fulham have missed the chance to move into the top six and overtake Sheffield Wednesday who were beaten 2-0 at Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

The home side took the lead when Sone Aluko slotted the ball home following a quick counter-attack on the stroke of half-time.

Rovers, who started the match in the bottom three, battled throughout the game and were rewarded when Richard Conway converted his penalty with 11 minutes left on the clock.

But seven minutes later substituted Cyriac thought he has scored the winner until Lucas João scored in the 94th minute to change the complexion of the play-off race.

This time last week, Slaviša Jokanović was celebrating on the touchline when Tom Cairney scored a brilliant stoppage time equaliser against Garry Monk’s side.

Therefore, there is no surprise that the Elland Road faithful were pleased that the London-based club got a taste of their own medicine.

The result means Fulham remain in seventh-placed on 61 points from their 37 matches, five points behind fourth-placed Leeds.

It can all change once again at the weekend with the Yorkshire club hosting automatic hopefuls Brighton and Fulham taking on Midlands outfit Wolves on Saturday afternoon.

Overall, Leeds supporters were pleased that Blackburn did their club a favour by denting their rivals play-off hopes.
