Robert Green put in a poor display against Nottingham Forest in Leeds’ 3-1 loss on Saturday at the City Ground – and supporters of the Yorkshire giants took to Twitter to air their disdain at the goalkeeper.
The former England international was particularly criticised by fans when it came to the side defending set pieces after the side conceded two in the afternoon match.
The Leeds conceded early on after Pajtim Kasami volleyed home from a corner before Damien Perquis also headed found the back of the net with a header from the corner in the second half.
A stunning goal from Kalvin Phillips from a free-kick proved to be a consolation goal for Garry Monk’s side, as Oliver Burke wrapped up the scoring deep into stoppage time.
Fans of the Yorkshire club were unhappy with what they saw from Green, with some even calling for Marco Silvestri to return to the net.
Fans took to Twitter to share their views on Green’s display:
Very little to take from that – got to question Green (5 goals from corners) #lufc

#LUFC Need a proper replacement for Kasper Schmeichel. It's been TOO long.
NOT Robert Green – he's old and wasted.
Get Joe Hart…
