Leeds fans react on Twitter to Kalvin Phillips display v Ipswich

Kalvin Phillips was instrumental in Leeds’ 1-0 win over Ipswich on Saturday – and fans hailed his display on Twitter.

The Elland Road academy product was given the nod over Ronaldo Vieira to start in central midfield after Liam Bridcutt missed a third consecutive match with a foot injury.

Phillips played the entire 90 minutes at Elland Road as a Chris Wood header was enough to clinch a fourth consecutive win for Garry Monk’s team.

The triumph lifts Leeds to 12th in the Championship, with a haul of 13 points from their opening nine league matches of the campaign.

Fans were delighted with Phillips’ contribution against Ipswich, with many saying he stepped up to take responsibility in the absence of skipper Bridcutt.
