Leeds fans react on Twitter to Oli McBurnie display after reported imminent transfer

Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter to Oli McBurnie’s performance for Barnsley in the Yorkshire derby at Elland Road on Saturday.

McBurnie, 21, has been widely linked with a move to Elland Road in the summer with the Scottish Sun reporting that he is set to reject a new deal at Swansea in order to return to his hometown club.

The Scotland international has been on fire since Paul Heckingbottom signed him on loan for Barnsley in January.

He has scored eight goals in 14 appearances for the Tykes, but was not able to find the target against Leeds on Saturday as his side lost 2-1 to United.

McBurnie did have the ball in the back of the net in the second-half, but it was ruled out for offside.

Leeds fans did not seem overly impressed by the centre-forward for his performance against their side, with one saying that they should “avoid” signing him up.

Although it has been widely reported that McBurnie’s Swansea deal is expiring at the end of the season, the striker still has another year left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium and Leeds will have to pay a fee to see their former youth player return.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have agreed a two-year deal with this forward.
