'Take that haters' - Leeds fans rave about out-of-form mainstay for display v Bristol City
By Danny Wright
Leeds United fans have sung the praises of midfielder Kalvin Phillips on Twitter for his role in the Whites’ 3-0 win against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday,
Phillips, 21, has been a crucial part of Thomas Christiansen’s first-team plans this season and like many of his team-mates, had suffered a severe dip in form before this weekend’s win against Lee Johnson’s side.
Christiansen seemed to switch up his formation slightly at Ashton Gate, with Phillips playing slightly in front of Eunan O’Kane and Ronaldo Vieira as Samu Saiz was switched on to the left.
However when the team news released some fans weren’t happy that Phillips was picked to start.
Can we please stop playing Kalvin Phillips ????

As well as seeing a marked improvement from out-of-form Phillips, who assisted Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s goal from a corner, the manager’s change seemed to work wonders for the Whites overall, as they won for just the second time in their last five fixtures to leapfrog City in the Championship standings.

Many fans believe that was down to the influence that Phillips had on proceedings, while others hammered their fellow supporters for doubting the midfield mainstay.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Phillips setting the tone early on. Closing everything down from the front. Lasogga just needs something to stick. #lufc

Phillips has emerged as a real favourite of Christiansen this season, making 13 appearances across all competitions and starting every single one of Leeds’ Championship games.
The midfielder has even added goals to his game under the Dane’s leadership, scoring four times in the league as he has become more and more of an influence in the final third of the pitch.
In other Leeds United news, before kick-off, fans lost their minds with this decision from Christiansen.
